Asian food in Furtwangen: Vietnamese cuisine & sushi at AN

Furtwangen is a university town, the home of the German Clock Museum and the starting point for walks to the Breg spring – and a good place for Asian food: at AN Restaurant, Gerwigstraße 10, we serve Vietnamese dishes and freshly prepared sushi. Here's what to expect and which dishes suit which occasion.

Vietnamese cuisine and sushi under one roof

Our menu brings together two cuisines that go well together. From Vietnam come aromatic noodle soups, rice noodle bowls, curries and wok dishes with lots of fresh vegetables and herbs. From Japan come nigiri, maki, inside-out rolls and sashimi. If you like, combine both: a few sushi rolls to share, followed by a pho.

Lunch break in Furtwangen

Monday to Friday we are open for lunch from 11 am to 3 pm – just right for a break from the office or between lectures at the university. Filling classics for lunch:

• Pho bo or pho ga: hot Hanoi-style noodle soup with beef or chicken
• My xao: stir-fried noodles with vegetables and chicken breast or crispy duck
• Red curry: seasonal vegetables in coconut curry cream with rice, with tofu, chicken or beef
• A sushi set: such as Menü 1 with salmon nigiri, salmon maki and inside-out rolls

Dinner with friends or family

From 4:30 pm in the evening and all day from 12 noon to 10 pm at the weekend, there's time for more. Our tips for sharing:

• Goi cuon: summer rolls in wafer-thin rice paper with homemade peanut sauce
• Nem: homemade crispy rice paper rolls
• Bo la lot: beef in betel leaves – a speciality from southern Vietnam
• AN special rolls such as Smoked Salmon with flambéed salmon or the Rainbow Roll
• AN specialities: grilled prawns with sweet potato fries (Tom Nuong), tuna steak in dark sauce (Ca Thu Nuong) or crispy duck with mango sweet-and-sour sauce (Vit Mango)
• To finish: matcha ice cream, sesame dango or baked banana
